Tulemar is the reason this listing is unusual before you get to the house. It is the only gated community in Manuel Antonio with private standalone villas and its own walk-to-beach access — 33 acres of tropical reserve with four pools, a restaurant, a spa, a private beach and 24-hour security, inside a town where almost everything else is a condo or a hotel room. Casa SolAngelo is the landmark house within it.
The Architecture
Designed by Andrés Brenes and completed in 2019, over four stories built into the slope. The signature is a triple-edge infinity pool suspended fifty feet above the jungle, so the water reads as continuous with the Pacific behind it. Inside, a three-story limestone wall carving rises alongside a living Frangipani tree, which is the sort of thing that sounds excessive written down and works in person.
The top level is arranged as a penthouse — vaulted ceilings and 240 degrees of ocean. A private elevator serves every floor, which on a four-story house is not a luxury so much as the thing that makes it liveable long-term.
The Layout
11,442 square feet, four bedrooms, six baths. Every bedroom is treated as a primary: vaulted ceilings, its own ocean-view balcony, an en-suite with dual vanities and an enclosed toilet. The third-level suite is the standout, with a natural stone soaking tub and a balcony wide enough to live on. The chef’s kitchen is fully fitted, down to a built-in ice maker.
Outside
The pool terrace runs to sun loungers, in-water chaises and Italian furniture. The outdoor kitchen has a grill, an under-counter fridge and a second ice maker. A private gated walkway leads round to the jungle side of the house, where there is a secluded Jacuzzi, an outdoor shower and a dedicated yoga and meditation room — effectively a separate wellness wing, screened from the entertaining side.
Privacy, and Room to Grow
The house sits at the end of a private drive behind a hotel-style entrance, which buys it more seclusion than its half-acre would suggest. It is also one of the few homes in Tulemar with room to expand, and in a community this built out that is worth paying attention to.
Getting Around
Over fifteen restaurants are within walking distance. Marina Pez Vela and Manuel Antonio National Park are both minutes away, and Quepos airport (XQP) puts you a short domestic hop from San José. This is the least remote listing I carry — if the Osa Peninsula is one end of my range, Tulemar is the other.
