Two things here that most listings would not bother mentioning and that matter more than the finishes. The roof is upgraded recycled material with a fifty-year warranty, chosen partly to cut the noise during tropical rain — anyone who has spent a night under a standard metal roof in October will understand why. And the structure is armor-lock block construction, built for seismic conditions. Individual air conditioning throughout, and the kitchen is pre-plumbed for an ice maker or wine fridge.
Water, Power and Internet
ASADA water with a backup storage system, ICE electricity, and fiber-optic internet. On a ridge above Ojochal that combination is not a given, and the backup water in particular is worth having.
Ojochal
The culinary end of this coast, with a genuinely international community and a reputation for restaurants that outstrips the size of the village. Playa Ventanas and its sea caves are close, Playa Tortuga is quieter, and Marino Ballena National Park is a short drive north.
