Vista Hermosa sits on 2.14 acres above Ojochal, and the first thing worth saying about it is that it is all on one level. On this coast that is rarer than it should be — most houses with a view of this kind step down a slope across two or three stories. This one does not. The House
Three bedrooms, three baths, 3,800 square feet under a single roof plane that runs the length of the building and overhangs the terrace. High ceilings throughout, and glass along the whole ocean side, so the mountains and the water are in the room rather than through a window. Custom and imported furniture is included — it is sold fully furnished.
The living area is open, with the kitchen off it: full appliance package, custom wood cabinetry, a large island. The dining table sits in the trees, glazed on two sides, which is the detail people tend to remember afterwards.
The Master, and the Tub
The master suite has a Bali-style outdoor bathtub, screened on all sides by mature planting. It is the kind of thing that reads as a gimmick in a listing and turns out to be the reason people buy the house.
Outside
The pool terrace runs along the view, with a built-in barbecue center, an outdoor fridge, a fire pit and proper seating. Below the pool there is a fully equipped gym, added after the house was finished. The grounds are mature rather than newly planted — dense, established, and full of birds, which is the point of being here.
The Second Lot
An additional lot comes with the property and the parcel is sub-dividable. That is worth more than it sounds: it means a guest house, a rental cottage, a studio, or simply the certainty that nobody builds next to you. Ask me about the titling before you make plans — I would rather you had the real answer than the marketing one.
Ojochal
Ojochal is the culinary end of this coast, which is a strange thing to say about a village in the jungle until you have eaten there. Playa Ventanas and its sea caves are a short drive, Playa Tortuga is quieter, and Marino Ballena National Park is twenty minutes north.
